USA 2015 – Mount St. Helens

On May 18 1980, after weeks of small activity, the volcano Mount St. Helen’s north side collapsed, followed by a catastrophic eruption. All buildings and vegetation in an area of 600 square kilometer were flattened. 57 people were killed, some of them were never found. This area is now the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument. The volcano remains active to this day.
